Founded in 2002 through an initiative of the Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), the Arab Open University (AOU) is a regional, non-profit institution of higher education dedicated to expanding access to quality education, promoting knowledge and innovation, and contributing to sustainable human development across the Arab world.
Arab Open University – Morocco awards a Moroccan degree recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of the Kingdom of Morocco. Its academic programmes are also subject to evaluation and quality assurance processes conducted by the National Agency for Assessment and Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Scientific Research (ANEAQ). Upon graduation, students receive an officially recognized Moroccan degree, ensuring the recognition of their academic qualifications and enhancing their opportunities for further study and professional advancement both within Morocco and internationally.
In addition, the Arab Open University is accredited by The Open University in the United Kingdom, ensuring that its programmes meet rigorous international standards of academic quality and excellence.
This strategic partnership enables AOU to offer internationally recognized and respected degrees while providing students with access to a wide range of educational resources and learning opportunities.
The accreditation is maintained through regular evaluations and audits designed to uphold the high standards established by The Open University. This process ensures that AOU’s curricula, faculty members, and academic services continue to reflect international best practices in higher education.
